Rita Nelson first started in
Poodles in 1961, ultimately establishing the kennel name
of Chaud Chien based on two British kennels; Tranchant
and Lochranza. Over 15 years, Rita made several trips
to the U.K., coveting the Curly Coated Retriever breed.
By 1990, Rita had developed a friendship with Haydn and
Gladys Phillips of Wales, Gladrags, named the top Curly
Coated Retriever kennel in the U.K. now for the last 15
years. Rita imported an entire breeding program and
allied with the Phillips to become Gladrags USA. Rita’s
first 8 litters produced 35 show champions, 5
international, 2 field titles, 3 obedience titles and 1
Deutch/CACIB title.
After several
years of owning and showing Gladrags Curlys, it is a
great honor and privilege to announce that we have been
chosen by Rita Nelson, Haydn and Gladys Phillips to be
partners with Rita in Gladrags USA. |
